The history of Okmetic

Okmetic is the seventh largest silicon wafer manufacturer in the world. The company was founded in 1985 as a result of a joint venture of Nokia and Outokumpu. Below you will find a list of the company's milestones.

2016  Sale of epitaxial plant in Allen Texas

2015  Capacity expansion for 200 mm silicon wafers and advanced SOI wafers started

2012  Wafering line capacity extension started

2011  Sales office opened in Hong Kong

2011  Okmetic starts to increase its SOI capacity by extending the Vantaa plant

2009  Sensor business capacity expansion started
