CCO Vuorikari-Antikainen: Okmetic expands wafer portfolio with 300 mm and epitaxial wafers to address broader customer requirements
Okmetic strengthens its wafer portfolio to support customer requirements across wafer sizes and technologies. Alongside its established in-house manufacturing of advanced 150–200 mm silicon and bonded SOI wafers, the company has expanded its portfolio to include 300 mm polished and 150-300 mm epitaxial (EPI) wafers through qualified partner manufacturing. This expanded portfolio model reinforces Okmetic’s role as a Europe-based wafer partner supporting a broad range of semiconductor applications.
Partner manufacturing with Okmetic quality responsibility
The 300 mm polished and 150-300 mm EPI wafers are produced by selected manufacturing partners, while Okmetic retains full responsibility for supply chain management and wafer quality. This operating model ensures a smooth order-to-delivery experience aligned with customer expectations.
Supporting new applications alongside MEMS, RF, and power device markets
The expanded portfolio enables Okmetic to support applications across memory, logic, power, RF, and mixed-signal markets, expanding application coverage while continuing strong support for MEMS, sensor, RF, and power device applications. Okmetic also continues to support long-term demand for 150 mm wafers, while its fab expansion for 200 mm polished wafers has entered volume production in early 2026, strengthening manufacturing capacity and delivery readiness.
By combining strong in-house manufacturing with partner capabilities, Okmetic enhances supply flexibility and provides customized wafer solutions that support customer technology roadmaps and process requirements. This approach is complemented by ongoing research and development of Okmetic’s in-house wafer technologies, conducted in close collaboration with customers and research partners to support future device needs.
