The Sustainability Report for 2025 has been published

At Okmetic, sustainability is part of how we run our business—well beyond what regulations require. It guides our day-to-day decisions related to our people, the environment and conducting business ethically. We work continuously to strengthen our role as a responsible employer and a trusted partner for customers and other stakeholders. We report on our progress each year in our sustainability report, and the report for 2025 is now available.

In Okmetic’s history, 2025 stood out as a year of clear contrasts. We reached several major milestones: we marked our 40th anniversary, completed a major fab expansion, and produced the first wafers from the expanded facility. At the same time, business conditions remained challenging, as demand in Okmetic’s core segments stayed weak for an extended period—even though the overall semiconductor market continued to grow.

Even in a challenging year, we remained committed to our sustainability promises and ensured our operations reflected them. Throughout the year, we stayed focused on our mission: developing and delivering high-quality silicon wafers that help our customers achieve efficiency, precision and reliability in their products.

Some highlights from our year 2025:

• The fab expansion, the largest investment in Okmetic’s history, was commissioned in spring 2025. The first crystals were grown in the fab expansion in March, and the first wafers were produced in June. Operations entered a ramp-up phase in the second half of the year as production scaled toward volume production enabling the Vantaa site to cater to all 150–200 mm silicon wafer needs.
• We celebrated Okmetic’s 40th anniversary by honoring top-notch professionals (piinkovat ammattilaiset) from across the decades. The anniversary year culminated in a joint celebration with personnel in October.
• We took a significant step toward reducing our emissions by sourcing 80% of our electricity from renewable hydropower. As a result, we have already reduced our Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 54% compared to our 2022 baseline. This progress supports our
  SBTi-aligned target and clear roadmap to reduce Scope 1 and 2 emissions, covering direct emissions and purchased energy, by 90% by 2030.
• We completed the remaining recruitments required for commissioning the fab expansion.
• We continued to build a people-oriented company culture and invested in the well-being and development of our personnel.
